On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, Judy Hans and Brian Mitchell presented Meals on Wheels Collin County with an incredibly generous donation of $20,000.00 on behalf of Globe Life. Their contribution will supply approximately 3,000 meals, helping MOWCC to ensure that no senior in Collin County goes hungry.

In addition to their financial contribution, Globe Life has also adopted a route, delivering meals directly to our county seniors, and their employees are sharing of their time and talents by volunteering in other areas of our organization.

When presenting MOWCC with the check, Ms. Hans spoke about the impact Meals on Wheels has had on her life personally when delivering to her neighbor. She expressed how “they [Meals on Wheels] not only cared about her [neighbor] nutritionally, but spiritually and emotionally.” The mission of MOWCC is to ensure our seniors are healthy but also able to remain independent within their homes, families, and communities. Reaching out to our seniors not only through nutrition but also through wellness checks is key function to ensure our mission is met. It is because of businesses, like Globe Life, that we have the opportunity to care for those who have spent their lives caring for us.

Together, we will help ensure that no senior goes hungry in Collin County. Thank you Globe Life for all you do!
