At our most recent board meeting, MOWCC had the opportunity to show our appreciation to a couple of amazing volunteers for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Chris and Corie Johnson have collected Harvest Boxes at Custer Road Methodist Church for over eight years. Not only do they spearhead the Harvest Box drive at the church, but they also supply the boxes for church members to fill. “This is one our church’s top four missions,” Chris said. This year, their group provided over 135 Harvest Boxes to MOWCC.

Corie got her start with MOWCC as a volunteer driver. She expressed her love for her route and how it spurred her to do more within her church and community. Her service to the clients of MOWCC didn’t stop at simple meal deliveries. Corie also assisted a client in packing her belongings when her family deemed it time for her to move closer to them. Her love for MOWCC inspired her husband, and together they have become amazing advocates to the seniors in our community.

We at MOWCC are honored to have these two wonderful people dedicated to our seniors and our community. It is because of volunteers like Chris and Corie that Meals on Wheels Collin County is such a success.
